EAU CLAIRE, WI (January 21) - Jake Redetzke, of Eau Claire, WI, closed the curtain on a very successful 2011 racing season this past November at the WISSOTA National Banquet in St. Cloud, MN. Not only was Jake able to be recognized for his effort in finishing in the seventh position in the WISSOTA National Point standings, but was also honored as the 2011 Dart Challenge Series Champion. The 2011 season is one that Jake will remember for a long time as he was able to capture his first point’s championship in an absolute dream season for the 23-year-old who his fans call “The Shocker.”
In 48 shows, the traditional red and white #27 found its way to victory lane 9 times during the 2011 campaign, with the most memorable victory being the Governor’s Cup in Hibbing, Minn. Where Jake was able to lead all 100-laps and take home the $10,000 payday in his second ever win at Hibbing Raceway. With that win history was written, as Jake and his father Jerry will go down in WISSOTA Auto Racing history books, as the only father/son tandem to win a $10,000 to win WISSOTA Dirt Late Model race, as the now retired Redetzke was able to race to the 2002 Dacotah Rumble victory at the Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen, SD.
Other signature wins for Jake included the Red Clay Classic at the ABC Raceway in Ashland, WI, and a special victory at the Red River Valley Speedway in Fargo, ND, with the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Tony Stewart of Columbus, IN, in competition.
The road to capturing the 2011 Dart Challenge Series Championship was a successful one for Redetzke; he captured three wins in the 14 nights competing from Wisconsin to Montana, all without winning a heat race in the series. The Wegner Automotive powered MB2 made its way to victory lane at the Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, WI and a few weeks later Redetzke drove to his first wins at the Casino Speedway in Watertown, SD and Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen, SD.
The very successful 2011 season would not be possible if it was not for a special group of people giving Jake the opportunity to race each and every week with the funding and support needed to field a competitive Dirt Late Model team. Jake would like to give a sincere Thank You to the following individuals; his parents Jerry and Sharon Redetzke, Chris and Jimmy Mars from Marsracecars.com, and the two crew members that dedicated their entire summer to the success of the #27, Mark Mathews and Jerrod Smith. Jake would also like to give acknowledgment to the effort his sister, Amanda puts in with updating the team’s Facebook page.
As well as the many sponsors who continue to support Jake’s racing since the beginning of his career. The support and opportunities given to him by the following companies is something Jake can never give them thanks enough for everything they do.
Champs Pans, J&D Manufacturing, Curt Manufacturing, GrandStay.net, Coldwell Banker-Bob Seckora, Rolly Coach Club, Wegner Automotive Research, Integra Shocks and Springs, Buzz Signs & Graphics and Hoosier Tire North.
The 2012 season for Redetzke will begin in early April; the team looks to have another very successful season behind the wheel of a brand new MB2. Look for new 2012 merchandise for purchase in the spring including t-shirts, hoodies and hats. Check back in the upcoming weeks as the 2012 tour schedule will be released.
